Thank you to the many parents who participated in the Arabic In Touch Parent Coffee discussion session on Tuesday. A heartfelt Shukran for your interest and active participation. Our Arabic Studies teachers enjoyed the engaging discussion and were excited by your collective energy and enthusiasm in supporting the growth and development of our program.
Director of Arabic Studies, Ms. Samah Awad, will organize the feedback and suggestions offered and will provide a summary in next week’s newsletter. Your feedback and suggestions will be incorporated into our School Development Plan for the 2015-2016 school year.

College Coffee Morning
Please mark your calendars for the upcoming College Coffee Morning with our College Counselor Sharice Welch on Tuesday, May 12th at 8:30am. In recent weeks, our current seniors have been receiving acceptances to their colleges and universities of choice and they- along with their parents- are thrilled.
We encourage parents of Secondary School students, grades 9-11 to attend this informative session to learn how to best support your child’s journey to university and beyond.
KG, G5, G8 Promotion Events
High School Graduation is an exciting moment in the life of a senior student. However, yet it is also important to recognize and celebrate other critical transitions that mark a child’s progress along the K-12 journey. For this reason, we recognize and celebrate our students’ promotion to the next stage of their educational journey, from KG2 to Grade 1, entering the Elementary School; from Grade 5 to Grade 6, entering the Secondary School; and from Grade 8 to Grade 9, the beginning of high school.
Please read the Elementary and Secondary newsletter articles for specific information, dates and details for the upcoming Promotion activities for KG2, Grade 5 and Grade 8 as well as a recap of our senior Graduation events.
We have much to celebrate as a community in recognizing the accomplishments of our students while also honoring our parents, who have supported our students every step of the way.
GAAPA & Booster Club
Parents looking for a fantastic way to get involved in the school community, be sure to consider becoming a member of our GAA Parent Association (GAAPA) or the newly organized GAA Booster Club! The entire school community benefits when our parents are here, involved and engaged with the life of the school.
The Holy Month of Ramadan
Parents will receive a letter home next week explaining how the school routines during the Holy Month of Ramadan as well as contain important information to assist families new to the area with cultural expectations and information. Teachers and staff members will receive training and information in an upcoming Faculty Meeting to assist them in supporting and modeling appropriate routines during this Holy month.
