News from our Head of School - Kathy Miner
Congratulations Class of 2017!
Our graduates continue to receive acceptances from prestigious colleges and universities throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe and more. We are so proud of them!
Take a moment to view the list of colleges and universities our graduating seniors have been accepted to.
It is important to know that for a variety of reasons future plans for some of our graduates has yet to be determined and at this point only the country to which they are going to is now known. Some of our students will be serving their countries, others will be taking a gap year to explore their horizons. In some cases students have applied to southern hemisphere universities where the matriculation process does not need to commence until December. Others are attending universities in which offers are not made until Midsummer.
Regards,
Kathy Miner

News from our Director of Arabic Studies, Samah Awad
Dear GAA Parents,
On behalf of the Arabic staff at GAA, we would like to congratulate you for the arrival of the Holy month of Ramadan, may Allah shower you and your family with blessings.
This year we worked towards improving the Arabic language for our students by working on the skills and build bridges between the curriculum in the classroom and their social life, which motivated them to learn the Arabic language and use it in their day- to- day life.
Similarly, we helped our students to make everyday connection in Islamic studies and UAE social studies through many activities and celebrations.
We are proud of our students participating in many competitions and activities to practice and apply what they have learned within their classroom, and we proudly observed their improvement through Qur'an memorization competitions as well as Spelling Bee competitions for both native and non-native speakers that were held last week.
In addition to the above we spread the culture of kindness and caring when we worked hand in hand with our students and their families to collect and donate Baskets of Goodness honoring the Holy month of Ramadan and the Year of Giving as His Highness the President Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan declared.
These are some of our initiatives to help our students take action and show us the impact of what they have learned throughout the year.
Sincerely,
Arabic Director

During the year any items of value that are found in and around the school are brought to the main reception. If they are not collected they are stored away safely. We would like to ask that if you have lost anything of value e.g, cell phone, watch or wallet to please visit the main reception and we can have a look in the lost and found. As you can see by the below pictures we have many items that have not been claimed.
1. Cleaning Satisfaction Survey
We value the opinions of our school community in regards to the services offered by our partners and in house teams. Therefore we have designed a cleaning satisfaction survey to get feedback on services delivered to our schools. Please forward this survey to your school teaching and non-teaching faculty as well as parents to get their feedback.
The survey is very brief and will only take about 5 minutes to complete. The results will be used to focus our efforts, and to continually develop and improve the cleaning services offered throughout the GEMS network. These surveys should be completed before or by 30th May 2017
Please click the link below to go to the survey Web site or copy and paste the link into your Internet browser to begin the survey.
