News From the Elementary Principal Ben Voborsky
Hello GAA Community,
Thank you to all of our community members for supporting student led conferences. Our students did such a fantastic job of sharing their learning! Special thanks to our teachers for organising the student led conferences and parents for showing enthusiasm for your child’s learning. Student led conferences have never failed to impress me at GAA. Conferences demonstrate how engaged and confident our students are especially when sharing their portfolios with family members. Walking through the classrooms and specialist areas I witnessed a multitude of activity and discussion! Feedback from conferences was overwhelming positive with over 90% of our community attending.
Thank you for all your efforts and have a great weekend.

Elementary Art
To celebrate the 45th anniversary of Earth Day on 22 April 2015, in Art Grade 3 and 4 created a display in the foyer using recycled papers, boxes, paints and pictures to create awareness within the GAA community.
Kindergarten Corner
In KG1 over the past few weeks we have play based art centers. Students are encouraged to gain art knowledge and skills at their own pace while continuing to practice communication, cooperation, inquiry, and fine motor skills.
In KG2 we have been learning about different materials and using them to create art. Students have been exploring different materials in order to strengthen their knowledge as they prepare for their end of unit art piece where they can choose from the materials that we have worked with.
