News from Head of School - Kathy Miner
We are so fortunate to have so many amazing teachers at GAA. It is important to reflect on the year thus far and recognize their hard work and dedication.
Art & Performing Arts
What an engaging community event! Thank you to our Secondary School art, music and drama teachers for organizing our Secondary School Arts Festival, giving our students the opportunity to perform, appreciate the arts and to shine. Hosting the event – art show, dramatic and musical performances, band, choir and small ensemble performances- in the lobby and mezzanine provided the perfect venue for gathering together as a community to celebrate and appreciate the Arts and Performing Arts.

The We Are Monsters performance in the Elementary School was a very successful event as well. Amazing to see that our students are developing the confidence to perform under the guidance of our talented teachers.

From Our Director of Arabic Studies, Ms Samah Awad
Dear GAA Parents,
We enjoyed a great turn out this week at our “Arabic In touch” parent feedback session with our Arabic team members. Thank you to all who were able to join us to share ideas and feedback.
It was a proud moment, seeing our community in action, working together for the benefit of our students by sharing ideas for developing our department.
We will present the feedback gathered from the meeting, and discuss the actions and further planning for the next academic year.
For those parents who were busy, and not able to attend, I am happy to receive your ideas and feedback through my email: [email protected]
The comments offered during our Arabic In Touch session fell into the following themes:
1. Communication with parents
2. Teaching and learning strategies.
3. Class room management.
4. Scope and sequence.
5. KG curriculum and ways of teaching the Arabic language.
6. Islamic studies curriculum.
7. Enriching the Arabic resources in the school library.
8. Course options in the high school.
9. Engaging students on the Arabic classes.
10. Arranging fieldtrips and Arabic competitions.
Thank you again for your participation and community spirit. This was such a positive and engaging learning experience for all of us.
We will continue to offer more opportunities to gather feedback, ideas and suggestions from our parent community to continually improve our Arabic Studies program.
Sincerely,
Samah Awad
