News from Head of School - Kathy Miner
Dear Parents,
As you may know, our four school counselors across the school, K-12, are fantastic. They work to assist all of our students, parents and families throughout the year. They provide a variety support services, and programs to keep our parents informed and to assist our students to be their very best emotionally, socially and academically.
Be sure to mark your calendar for February 1st and attend the "Coffee with our Counselors" and participate in discussions about child development and how you, as a parent, can support your child’s growth.
Our counselors are also involved in promoting and fostering a healthy, positive and safe learning environment for all our students. Our priority is to provide safeguards for all of our students and in doing so, ask for your support with the following Child Protection notice. We ask that our parents are not only aware of our Child Protection Policy at GAA but that you make any report when necessary using the information listed below.
Child abuse and neglect are violations of a child’s human rights and are obstacles to the child’s education as well as to their physical, emotional, and personal development.
1. We ensure background screening for all community members such as employees, and volunteers who have direct contact and unmonitored supervision with students.
2. We ensure the adoption of a clear Code of Conduct by each member of school, governing expectations and behavior for all personnel working with students.
