GEMS American Academy Celebrates
UAE National Day
UAE National Day
To commemorate this special occasion students in KG- Grade 12 will attend a special UAE National Day Assembly, featuring a school play on the history of the union and information and facts about the UAE and its culture and heritage. They will then have a scheduled time to enjoy a special heritage fair on the school field.
We would like all students and teachers to wear either the UAE traditional dress or the colors of the UAE flag.
Parents are encouraged to come and enjoy our celebrations too. Please come to watch the school assembly and attend the heritage fair at the time your children are scheduled to be taking part. The schedule as well as a list of activities can be found in the below article from our Director of Arabic Studies, Ms Samah Awad. Please take a moment to read through it as it may help with your planning.

Dear GAA Parents,
We salute our beloved country as we celebrate the 44th anniversary of the establishment of the union that marked the beginning of a blessed march toward progress and development.
On this day, we remember the founders of the UAE, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, his companion the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum and their brothers the rulers, who all met on 2nd December 1971, armed with their deep belief in their country and with deep interest in the people, eventually led the birth of the United Arab Emirates and the onset of the country’s renaissance.
To commemorate this special occasion students will attend a special UAE National Day Assembly, and they will then have a scheduled time to enjoy a special heritage fair on the School field on the 29th November, 2015. Kindly see the schedule below.
We will also serving traditional coffee and Dates in the main reception for parents to enjoy.
We are looking to see you on Sunday!
Thank you & Best regards

Hello Wildcats!
The Booster Club will be having a Dress Down Day Thursday, 26 NOV 2015! Our theme is Sports Teams! Come to school dressed in your favorite sports team's jersey, colors or just something fun to wear!
To alleviate the teachers' load on an already short day we are implementing a new procedure.
Students will need to pre-purchase a sticker that must be prominently worn on the dress-down day. Elementary students will write their name on their sticker and then place it in their teachers envelope. We will deliver the envelopes to the appropriate classroom at the end of the day Wednesday to be passed back out them on Thursday morning. Secondary students will purchase the sticker and then keep track of it to wear on Thursday.
Stickers sales will occur from 2:00 - 3:30 Sunday - Wednesday at the Spirit Shop in the main school lobby and during lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Has your child lost something at school? Misplaced water bottles, lunch boxes, uniforms, swimming gear, school books and more can be found in Lost and Found center under the staircase of the main lobby. On the last day of school, unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity. If your child is missing an item, this is the place to look first!
