News from our Secondary Principal, Craig Randall
Dear parents,
As we inch closer toward the end of the school year, the secondary school is abuzz with activity. This week saw the Grade 12 students finish writing their last exams and complete their High School career. To commemorate this auspicious event the students will celebrate with a Junior/Senior Prom tonight at the Fairmont Hotel and then will officially graduate from GAA next Thursday.
Yesterday we welcomed our newest group of secondary students to the fold. Our Grade 5 students spent most of the day learning about our Middle School program and how it differs from Elementary School. Thanks to all of our teachers and students who made them feel welcome.
Grades 9 through 11 students have exam week next week. We wish them all a great weekend of studying. There are no regular classes for these students next week.
Lastly, this morning we celebrated the completion of Middle School with our Grade 8 students. The ceremony was held in the auditorium and was well attended by parents and staff. Nada Elbastawisi gave an excellent speech to her classmates, and Mr. Risner provided some words of wisdom as the guest speaker. The students looked great as they strode across the stage to accept their certificates from Mr. Randall. The ceremony was followed by a celebration in the gymnasium where GAAPA had organized some excellent food, music and a bubble machine! Thanks to everyone for making this day special for our Grade 8…soon to be Grade 9 students.
Regards,
Craig Randall
