News from our Secondary Principal, Craig Randall
Dear Parents,
We now officially have our first graduating class at GAA. Last Thursday night our young men and women of the 12th Grade were able to walk across the auditorium stage and receive their High School Diplomas at the completion of the ceremony. It was a special evening for all of our graduates and their families. The evening was filled with entertainment from our band and our senior singer Monique Tuazon; the speeches were filled with humorous moments and with sage advice for our graduates. It was a fine celebration of the achievements of the GAA class of 2015.
Congratulations seniors, we are proud of you!
Congratulations senior parents for the accomplishments of your children. Thinking about graduation has caused me to reflect on the 2014-2015 school year at GAA. In some ways it seems like yesterday that we were welcoming in new teachers and students at the beginning of the school year. I feel it has been a year of tremendous progress in the secondary school. I know our teachers have worked very hard this year to improve in their teaching and to make the year special for your children. Among other milestone accomplishments in the Secondary School this year has been our first IB students completing their first year of the IB Diploma Program as well as our 8th graders completing Middle School before they move on to High-School where grades count towards the University application process.
I think back to all the fun events and activities over the course of the year things like our International Food Festival, Harvest Festival and Winter Festival. I think about the amazing progress we have made with our sports teams, clubs and after school activities. I remember the joy of attending our plays, musical concerts and the Secondary Arts Festival. I think back on fantastic experiences the students had on their Ecoventure and Spring Break trips. We also had all of our fun “Days,” Pink Day for breast cancer awareness, Sports Day and the ever popular Pi Day for all of our math fans.
I thank you parents for all for your support in helping our students grow as students and as people over the course of the year.
