News from our Elementary Vice Principal, Louise Dunn
Dear Community Members,
As we are enjoying the pleasant weather of winter here in Abu Dhabi, please remember that only school uniform is to be worn. Please, no jeans or other long pants are to be worn as a substitute for the official uniform pants. If your student has misplaced their sweater, we have many in the lost and found center just outside the cafeteria. Please stop by and check if your student's sweater is there. We do unfortunately continue to find many pieces of uniform with no names on them, so we are unable to return them to their owners.
Have a great weekend,
Louise Dunn

In Grade 4, we are using figurative language to express ourselves through poetry. Jenna, a 4C student, created the following poem to highlight her use of onomatopoeia and personification. Excellent work, Jenna!
Elementary Community Share
On Thursday morning, students from 1C and 2D shared some of their learning from their current units of inquiry. The Grade 1 students have been inquiring in celebrations around the world and sang ‘Happy Birthday” in many different languages including Polish, Arabic, Italian, French, English and Spanish. In Grade 2 students have been learning about procedural writing in Lab Reports. They shared all the components of writing up a report for a Scientific Experiment and wowed the audience with three live experiments. It was so wonderful to watch such young learners being so knowledgeable and confident on stage in presentations that they planned and prepared themselves.
This week’s Community Share also saw the unveiling of the new “VIP Section” for students who received Star Student Awards this week. Those students got a front row view of the sharing before they were called up to be recognized on stage for their demonstration of PYP attitudes and/or IB Learner Profile attributes. You can see more photos of the event here.
