News From the Elementary Principal Ben Voborsky
Hello GAA Community,
What a great week it has been! Last night, I had the wonderful opportunity to see WE ARE MONSTERS. It was fantastic. There is another showing tonight so do not miss it! Get your tickets while they are hot and doors open at 5:30pm.
The feedback from our GAA community regarding last weeks Student Led Conferences was very positive. Students spoke highly about being given the opportunity to share their learning. Teachers were proud and recorded the following parental attendance rate:
KG1 – 80%
KG2 – 81%
GR1 – 90%
GR2 – 94%
GR3 – 93%
GR4 – 83%
GR5 – 85%
As a community of learners that is focused on improvement, I would ask you to please complete the following brief feedback questionnaire to assist us in identifying any improvements for conferences in 2015-2016.

Thank you for your support. Your feedback is appreciated.
Another thing that our GAA community really appreciates is parking safety. We have had a number of community members highlight vehicles that are parking (very illegally) and blocking footpaths which is putting our students at risk. Please take care and be aware of your surrounds when navigating our busy car parks.
As the year is winding up, many of students and their parents are anxiously waiting information about the KG Promotion Ceremony and the G5 Promotion Ceremony. Never fear, these valuable community events are bring planned and parents will be invited to contribute! The KG and Grade 5 teams will be contacting you soon with the dates already on the school calendar.
Enjoy your weekend with family and to all of those teacher who are giving up their weekend to join me in an IB PYP workshop, THANK YOU!

KG2H has been exploring the properties of materials through our current Unit of Inquiry. The students experimented with the states of matter by turning a liquid into a solid and then watching the water evaporate on the playground outside. It was an exceptionally fun inquiry experience for the students.
*A gentle reminder that for safety and security reasons children are not allowed in the classrooms after school. We appreciate parents assistance with this and thank you for your continuous help and support.
