Athletics and Activities 2014 – 2015 Overview
Athletic and activity programs are a vital part of our students schooling lives. The GEMS American Academy endorses a comprehensive co-curricular activities program intended to enhance the physical, social, emotional, artistic, and intellectual growth of participating students. Our program emphasizes participation in the early stages of the program, while becoming increasingly competitive as the student progresses.
Competitive programs will begin within the first couple of weeks of school, while the non-competitive programs will begin from the 14th of September. Parents should expect email communication, which will talk them through the sign up procedures for these activities. Some programs will require an extra payment, however most are offered without additional charges.

The fundamental principle for competitive athletics and activities in a school system is serving the education of its students. Athletics should both promote and supplement the regular curricular program of the school. However, at GEMS, we have been monitoring the situation closely and have the protocols and processes in place to deal with any issues should the need arise. We will of course keep you updated.
