Secondary Summer Reading List
The research is clear that children who don't read during the summer can lose up to three months of reading progress and that loss has a cumulative, long-term effect. GAA’s Secondary English Department has put together a Summer Reading List for students in grades 6-12. Each grade level has a required text that will be assessed during the first two weeks of school and the English teachers have provided a list of recommended titles per grade level. Students should read the novel for the grade level they will be in for the 2014-2015 school year. Have a great summer and happy reading!!!!

Grade 9 and above Math Equipment for the 2014/15 School Year
Supplies for next year: All high school students (gr. 9 and up) are required to own a graphing calculator. If a high school math student already owns a graphing calculator and knows how to use it, s/he needs to check if it is an approved calculator. Otherwise, please purchase an IB (and SAT) approved graphing calculator this summer. Among the graphing utilities currently permitted on IB exams are Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus and TI-84 Plus Silver Edition, as well as some non-CAS TInspire; the TI-84 Plus is the tool that we use at GAA with upper middle school students.
