News From Secondary Vice Principal Dr. Tim Fryer
Greetings Secondary Parents,
Student Council: On Monday 29th September, the newly democratically elected Student Council will be presented at
a whole Secondary school assembly. This is very exciting for GAA as this is our first truly representative Grade 6-12 student body that can truly make a difference to the broader life of the Secondary school. Their first event will be to coordinate the box appeal in the Secondary school. Special thanks to Ms. Mohtashim and Mr. Carlin, Student Council
organizers.
Arabic classes: Please note our increased enrollment has meant that we have reorganized some Arabic classes this week to balance numbers and to provide the best possible learning environment for our students. This may have meant that your child now has a different teacher. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
Hajj celebration: As described in last week’s newsletter, we will have a whole Secondary assembly on Thursday October 2nd to explain the meaning of the Hajj. Please see the attached flyer.
Grade 6-9 Camps: Please contact Chris Mott, Athletics and Activities Director, with any queries about the Camps: Eco Ventures has listened to parental and school concerns and without compromising the program, have managed to reduce costs and extend the deadlines as follows:
G6&7: New deadline for submission of payment and permission forms is October 2nd. Cost to parents reduced to 1595 from 1895.
G8&9: New deadline for submission of payment and permission forms is October12th. Cost to parents reduced to 2095 from 2395.
After processing, the school accounts department will contact and reimburse those parents who have already paid the full amount.
Have a lovely weekend
