2017-2018 School Calendar
We’ve drafted a tentative school calendar for the 2017-2018 academic year to assist you in planning the year ahead. We have submitted this draft to ADEC and are awaiting approval, which means that dates could change before final approval is given. ADEC provided the dates for the start and end of the school year as well as holidays, and we built our calendar accordingly.
You will notice that the school year begins after Eid Al Adha Holiday in September 2017 and stretches through to the end of June.
Please use this calendar to set tentative dates for travel and plans with friends and family knowing that dates are subject to change based on our pending approval with the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC).

Dear Parents,
We salute our beloved country as we celebrate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the union that marked the beginning of a blessed march toward progress and development.
On this day, we remember the founders of the UAE, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, his companion the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum and their brothers the rulers, who all met on 2nd December 1971, armed with their deep belief in their country and with deep interest in the people, eventually led the birth of the United Arab Emirates and the onset of the country’s renaissance.
To commemorate this special occasion students will attend a special UAE National Day Assembly, and they will then have a scheduled time to enjoy a special heritage fair on the School field on the 29th November, 2016.
For students in KG 1 and 2, they will start their activities at 8:10 am in the school field.
We would like all students and teachers to wear either the UAE traditional dress or the colors of the UAE Flags.
Parents are invited to enjoy our celebration too. Please come to watch the school assembly and attend the heritage fair at the time your children are scheduled to be taking part. Here is the day’s schedule.
We will also be serving traditional coffee and Dates in the main reception for parents to enjoy.
We are looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday!
Thank you,
Best regards

From our Key Club
During the month of November Key Club aimed to aid the community by hosting a clothing drive for Operation Smile. Operation Smile is a non-profit organisation helping those who were born with cleft lip and cleft palate. They not only provide surgery but also equip these individuals with health care for the rest of their lives.
Key Club would like to thank all of those who donated their clothes; the clothing drive was extremely successful all thanks to you!

What an amazing UAE Innovation Week at GAA! Our students, teachers, and parents had a wonderful time exploring Maker Madness! Students got to Make It, Take It, Break It, Build It, and Try It! Our GAA Families got the exciting opportunity to create “Scribble Robots” and “Catapults,” and our lucky winners took home a Star Wars Millennium Falcon trophy that was created on our 3D printer. Thank you to everyone who helped make this week a success. We look forward to providing many more exciting opportunities for all of our students, teachers, and families!
