News from our IB Diploma Coordinator, Patrick Lyons
Dear parents,
Our IB Diploma Programme is moving along in all of its phases this week. 53 of our Senior class are now registered for IB Diploma exams. 53 of our Junior class have been preparing for their first mandatory reflection session with their new Extended Essay Supervisors. Then last, but not least, the second phase of our curriculum design for next year’s IB Diploma programme went into effect with Grade 10 parents all receiving an email inviting them to watch the presentation their children saw on the course options for IB Diploma. When the students heard from the presenters two weeks ago, they were invited to fill out a survey. Grade 10 parents have also been invited to do the same. If you are a grade 10 parent and have not yet done so, you can complete the survey here.
It is important to us that we are able to provide a balanced mix of course offerings. However, we can’t offer every subject the IB has written a syllabus for. That is why your opinions and preferences matter to us. The students have given us a lot of food for thought but parent voice is also crucial to our decision making. As we grow and our Diploma Programme develops, we are proud to see the partnership between teachers, students, the school and our parents blossom alongside it.
Regards,
Paddy Lyons
