Three Way (Student-Parent-Teacher) Conferences
We are looking forward to your participation at Student-Parent-Teacher Conferences on November 11th and 12th. It is important to understand that during this Conference your child, and you, as parents, attend. Your child will be provided with the opportunity to share their learning with you and the class teacher. They will be responsible for reflecting upon and communicating to you work samples that have been previously selected with guidance and support from their teacher.
*Please note that only Kindergarten and Elementary require appointment, see below for more details.
Secondary School:
Secondary have a walk-in conference arrangement in which all Secondary teachers are seated at desks in the Gym. You and your child will meet with each of your child’s teachers, as they are available for a brief 10-minute conference. Students are encouraged to attend with their parents.
*There is no need to book ahead for a conference time.
Kindergarten and Elementary School:
KG – Grade 3
Grade 4 & Grade 5
All teachers in KG and Elementary will host 30-minute student led conferences with families in the classroom. Parents are able to book conference times by selecting from the available spaces on the conference schedule.
This link went live today at 11:00am, and will allow you to create a booking with your Elementary or Kindergarten teacher.
KG and ES Specialist teachers:
Parents can find specialist teachers in the Elementary School library. Please feel free to spend 10 minutes with a specialist teacher to learn more about our programs that support Arts, PE, Arabic, Library, Music, Dance, Drama and Cooking.
*There is no need to book ahead for a conference time with a specialist teacher.
Please note that there will NOT be regular classes on these two days (November 11th&12th). We recommend students attend the conferences with their parents.

News from our Director of Arabic Studies, Ms Samah Awad
Dear GAA Parents,
A great turn out this week at our “Arabic In touch” parent feedback session with our Arabic team members. A big thank you to all who were able to join us to share ideas and feedback. It was a proud moment, seeing our community in action, every one working together for the benefit of our students by sharing ideas for developing our department.
We will present the feedback, charts created during the meeting, and we will discuss the action that we need to take further on our planning for this year.

- We began our session with a presentation on the Arabic Department's Mission and Vision, including pictures of our students during the Arabic classes.
- Overall, communication with parents is excellent.
- Teaching and learning strategies are effective and improved from last year.
- Students are more engaged during the Arabic classes.
- Improving in writing and reading skills.
- Working on sight words on Arabic.
- Arranging fieldtrips and Arabic competition.
- Working on Classroom Management.

GAA CELEBRATED ITS 4TH BIRTHDAY
OCTOBER 23RD
The GAA Music Department is delighted to recognise some outstanding achievements this week.
The Association for Music in International Schools (AMIS) is an organisation dedicated to the promotion of musical excellence at all levels in music education. Students at GAA are encouraged to undertake a rigorous audition process in the hopes of being selected to represent their school at the various annual AMIS Music Festivals. The audition process is open to all international schools around the world and the competition is fierce.
We are delighted to announce that three of our students have been accepted into the following international ensembles:
This is a wonderful example of how dedicated our students are to the Arts at GAA and we wish them the best of luck as they prepare for this amazing opportunity.
