SUPER CHILI BOWL TAILGATE PARTY
Are you ready for some football? And chili? And fun? Tonight's the night! 6-9pm on the GAA field. The teams are set to serve up their chilis, and there will be a "Tailgate Table" should those not on a team wish to bring something to share. Hope to see you there - decked out in your football best (jerseys, painted faces, beads, etc.) or just as you are! Tickets are 25 AED for adults; children are free. ALSO, we will be raffling off ONE MONTH'S USE OF A PRIME-LOCATION PARKING SPACE! Proceeds will benefit the GAA Athletics Department and the Wildcats Shop. Questions? Saturday, Feb 22 (NOON): The planning committee and all the country coordinators are already working hard on this fantastic celebration of the foods and traditions of GAA's multi-cultural community! The list of participating countries is attached for your information and in case you would like to contact someone from your country. If you don't see your country and would like to get involved…or if you have any other questions…please send an email to Candy at [email protected] or [email protected].

This year's Terry Fox Run is coming soon!
It is:
-Friday, February 21st, starting at 10am
-at Abu Dhabi Corniche
-fun! It is 8 km and you can run, walk, rollerblade, bike, etc. (it is not a race)
-for everyone: young and old and there is no entry fee or minimum donation. DONATIONS are appreciated though!
A GREAT CAUSE: every year this event draws thousands of people and raises hundreds of thousands of dirhams for CANCER RESEARCH and the money stays here in the UAE We need your help to promote the event! If you or your students do not know who Terry was, I encourage you to watch this clip with your homeroom (grade 3 –4 and up): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjgTlCTluPA
His story is both heart-wrenching and inspirational. Who he was and what he did was simply amazing.

*Homeroom teachers: you will each be receiving an envelope with order forms for T-SHIRTS. The deadline to order shirts with 'TEAM GAA' printed on the back is next Tuesday, Feb. 6th, so NOW is the time to talk to your students about this great event. (Tshirts are always available on the day of the run as well, but these ones will be personalized)
Kids sizes: 25 aed, Adult sizes: 30 aed – Examples will be in the Main Reception for parents to see. CASH ONLY please
All other staff and faculty: please see Fiona (Elementary) or Lynne (Secondary) to order yours or give your order/money to any homeroom teacher.
